AUGURI a tutti VOI!
Che il 2006 sia il più bello del vostro passato! Che ognuno di voi trovi la felicità e possa realizzare tutti i sogni che tiene chiusi gelosamente nei cassetti dell’utopia. Che i cuori, anche i più duri e più provati dall’esistenza possano finalmente aprirsi ad un sorriso e regalarne uno a chi gli sta accanto.
Auguri a tutti i genitori, a tutti i figli, agli amici, a quelli che non mi vogliono bene, a chi mi ama, a chi non mi accetta, a chi ha paura di me, a chi mi sopporta, a chi non vuole vedermi.
Auguri ai miei colleghi, ai miei capi, a chi ha fatto parte del mio passato e a chi mi sta accanto nel presente.
Auguri a chi non ho ancora incontrato, a chi sta dall’altro capo del mondo, a chi si sente solo anche se ha attorno milioni di persone.
Auguri a chi sparla, a chi non è generoso, a chi vive nella paura, a chi soffre, a chi muore d’invidia.
Auguri a chi è buono di cuore, a chi sogna di vincere alla lotteria, a chi vuole un lavoro e a chi avrà figli.
Auguri a chi ha il colore della pelle diverso dal mio, a chi la pensa diversamente, a chi crede in un altro Dio, a chi non crede in niente.
Auguri a chi non ha mai avuto il coraggio di guardarsi dentro, a chi non apprezza la musica, a chi non può permettersi niente.
Auguri a quelli che stanno studiando, a chi sta lavorando e anche a chi non ha voglia di fare nulla.
Auguri a chi è in crisi, a chi ha un nuovo amore, a chi ha lo stesso compagno da una vita intera…
Potrei continuare fino all’infinito, ma quello che voglio dire è BUON ANNO A TUTTI!
E soprattutto auguri a tutte quelle persone che, nel bene e nel male, hanno contribuito a fare di me quella che sono!

Some words about Leadership…

When I was younger, I thought that a Leader was a semi-useless figure that was surrounding the working team with his bullshits!
Now, a lot of years later, I understand that I though like that because of too many leaders I’ve met in my life were everything but leaders!
Of course I have changed my mind so deeply nowadays that those thoughts seem irrational to me, but there is another thought that is hitting me harder and harder every day: of all the Leaders I had worked with those I will remember for more than a second (and ina positive way) dos not take away more than few fingers in the first counting hand!

I started evaluating Leadership as a very important since the fall of too many projects badly thought, badly designed and badly directed.
Leaders are like movie directors: you can have the best actors in the world, but your sign is the brightest.

Decision makers, shields for his/hers team members, clock and compass of the project: the Team Leader has a lot of responsibilities on his/her shoulders, and therefore he/she must be choosed well, because this person can change the overcome of your project!

Donnie Darko

I am late, I know…
I know that many of you cound tell me: “Hey, I have seen this movie some years ago…”
I know… but I have seen it only yesterday and I have to admit that it impressed me a lot! Donnie Darko was a good movie overall.

The ideas at the base of this movie, the time travels and the parallel worlds have always attracted my attention. Even if when the movie ended I looked shocked for a while, I have to admit that I had a good two hours.

One Hundred percent Good? Maybe not at all…

Trieste in white

This morning I woke up hearing the strange sound of a shovel against the asphalt.
??? …what… ???
Outside the window, in the dark of the morning, I saw the snow!

Ok, the quantity and the quality (mixed to water) of the snow was not impressing, but it’s always strange to see it here. Trieste is a strange city, fit between the sea and the mountains, so the snow is something really rare, but highly magical!

My fear is that the weather forecast are telling us that we will be hit by the Bora (our in-famous high-speed wind) and that there is the risk of a big icing.
Where the real risk is?

Pesantezza…

Giornata pesante oggi, una delle tante di queste ultime settimane… Non mi pare vero che il lavoro possa strapparti così tanta vita e voglia di combattere, non lo ritengo giusto!
Tra un paio di giorni una mia collega se ne andrà dall’ufficio perché le sono scaduti i due anni massimi di contratto come lavoratore atipico e nonostante tutto il suo impegno, la sua correttezza e la sua bravura, nessuno potrà fare nulla per salvare il suo posto di lavoro. Triste.
A volte mi piacerebbe avere il potere di consigliare le persone o di cambiare certe situazioni, ma nulla di questo è in mio potere purtroppo. Non ci riesco neppure per quanto riguarda me stessa, figuriamoci!
Speranza… questa è la sola parola che mi rimane. D’altro canto mi viene in mente una frase “chi vive sperando, muore c…….”.
Si, malumore oggi e il tempo grigio, freddo e ventoso non aiuta di certo la parte ottimista di me ad emergere.
A volte sogno di vincere al Superenalotto, ma in fondo mi dico che dovrebbe farlo una persona più bisognosa di me e che ami meno le sfide. E’ che a certe sfide devi proprio rassegnarti.

Too much work, too few posts…

Hi everyone!
I’d like to say sorry if in these days my posts has been a so few… but an unexpected job has taken me at work for all the free time I had!
I had worked also yesterday, national holiday here, and I’m supposed (…no, not only supposed) to work also tomorrow and sunday!!!
GOSH!

I hope to start posting regularly again when the job overload will be over… next year? :) (I hope not…)

Group Management: a vital part for your job!

Sometimes I get stuck about how many risks a work can get into when the Group Management is something more Abstract than Real!
Many errors ago I wasn’t aware of what being a “Project Manager” means, but now, after too many wrong turns I have understood that it is a vital part for a company, and that the creation of Rules and a strict People management is the solution to keep your work healty!

This december will be a “Full Month”, because I will have to do an entire application in zero-time, putting all my efforts to help a group of my friends to focus on the problematics and finish the work as soon and better as they can.

Do you want to use VoIP? They want to listen!

This morning I read a shocking news about VoIP: The Government of the United States of America wants to promulgate a new law that will force all the VoIP software to contain a backdoor for “Security Reason“.
Now, I understand that in the name of the National Security everyone of us is a probable Terrorist, a P2P thief or something similar, but now I think that some things are clearer enough:

• We are NOT innocent unless further trial
• If they are actibg in this way for the VoIP, they are already doing the same thing on our normal phones
• They are missing the brain, because they are attacking one of the most important american flags: Freedom!

Go and find here some more information about CALEA, the regulation I am talking about…
Of course I have to tell you that I am a little scared about this powerful moment of USA upon the Internet Life: after the DNS scandal (It’s everyones! NOT YOUR), Bush Administration is trying to let a law that will involve NOT ONLY the Americans, but the entire world!

Harry Potter Books

It was time for some reading, and after a lot of strange and unsatisfactory books I decided to try something new.
I was reading Sol Levante (Rising Sun) from Michael Crichton, but the italian paperback version I own had a little problem: in the first 40 pages, every other page was completely blank! Not good!
Not only I have changed from some “Political Thriller”, but I also changed the language: I am now reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, after finishing Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in two days! And of course I am not reading it in italian, but in english!!! (Finally some english books different from some development manual!!!)

I have to tell that til now I have always watched only the movies, but…
