Another Shoulder Rider at the Carnival
Another shot of a baby riding her father’s shoulders, not the first and not the last during this year Notting Hill Carnival. In my last photo I have expressed a fatherly instinct. I normally tend not to shoot babies, mostly because the schizophrenia linked to the pedophilia. Please do not misunderstand my words, it is very important. I totally condemn pedophilia and I this it is an aberration that should be punished with the longest sentence. Nevertheless lately I have heard too many times people being accused of being pedophile just because they are taking photos of babies. This is a little over the line. I think I would be a protective father (as many are), but from this to go ballistic there is a lot of difference.
When I saw this father with his daughter on his shoulder I raised my camera to my torso, showing it to him and he simply nodded gently, so I took the shot.
