Are you sure you want Vista? Cancel or Allow?

When I installed Vista, months ago, with a public beta, I was quite shocked by the continuous questions like:

Someone is trying to access the Control Panel! Cancel or Allow?” well, that “someone” was me, and after five minutes I had gone completely mental because of the continuous stupid questions. From this point of view I don’t like the new OS from Microsoft: this is not “advanced security”. Now I have to admit that I can laugh and play the fool because I’m using Mac OS X, and it is something I would suggest to everyone!

Frank has pointed me out to the new Apple Ad featuring Vista… It’s Sooooooo fun! Ps: On Frank site you will also find a schema for the Vista and OSX upgrade strategy, to be seen, absolutely!

Here’s the Video: Have a Nice Day!

well, I preput that I’m not neither a “micro$osfthavian” nor a “other-OS-havian” nor a “judge”, and i learnt to judge things in an overall complex, rather than on its form or way to be.
well i read of many people refuting every MS windows’s points of strength (such aero, patchguard, firewall, IE, etc…) but the same has been told about linux’s points of strength, and every “faction” has its own method to refute the “opponent” software functionality. I’ve used both (but not OSX) and i can truly say that each faction has its good reasons. just to say that each sofware has its good/bad own worths.

Franz,
Everyone should judge for his/her own, especially when dealing with the OS. I think that Os X is a great Operating System: stable, fast, complete, and has nothing to fear with Vista.
I have tested Vista and I wasn’t so shocked: the graphic is good, but the it seems to me that the real core is nothing but a patched XP with few enhancements.
The fact that MS is shouting that Vista is the “Most Secure” OS makes me laugh: I don’t think that something like to “bodyguard” of the video (that is quite realistic, from a certain point of view) is a good technological solution for the security. A good solution would be a system that is capable of learning, of understanding the source of the commands and so on, not a bothering popup that ask you continuously if You did something or not. It’s not a big step forward for the technology, isn’t it?

the “Most Secure” OS makes me laugh

yeah SP1 on work. i think i laugh too :))

and indeed, Vista is a very resource “eater”. i didn’t said it’s a good one, i just said that it has its good things like the other ones have :). weights concerning solutions’ problems are always actual for each OS.

ps. i’ve just tryed to use more “dots” :D
