Data Retention: the terrorists won!
Mr. Barroso, President of the European Commission, has decided to accept the request of UK minister Charles Clarke to adopt the data retention for all the European countries!
The proposal is to retain the data of internet (e-mail sent and received, web pages) and phone calls (caller, geographical location), all in the name of the War Against Terrorism and Terrorists!
Well, I do not agree. I’m sorry for the fanatics of “Security” and also for those who thinks that this is the correct way to solve an Ideological Problem, because I do not think that this is right!
The Terrorists Won, I’m sure, even if I’m not sure if the terrorists are those who want to let Europe explode or those who wants to tie us and control ourselves. It’s two different way of terrifing the human being, but for God Sake, in this way we will loose what those bombers are attacking us for: OUR FREEDOM!
So, the Terrorists of the bombs has won to limit the freedom they battle against, and the Terrorist of the informations has won to tie us completely!
It is Sad, not because I have something to hide, but because it is another freedom that is falling. Who will control that data, who can tell us that the data stored wouldn’t be used for commercial, or for blackmail?!?!?!?!?! There is no security if that data will be available to the people! And I don’t feel myself Paranoid, because think simply to what’s happening with the MPAA or the RIAA… they are using hacker tool to know the ip of the downloader and they are doing a Cursade (In the name of God-Money), and they were the first to require a data retention!
They told us that we are Innocent until being found guilty, but now they are acting like we are guilty, until thy will found that our log tell the world we are Innocent!
I would like to remember two little things…
RIAA and MPAA are doing something called “Punish some to teach to many”… like the Nazists during the II WW
and this idiot things of the Data Retention is not so different!
and let me remind you the Movie “Enemy of the State” (Gene Hackman and Will Smith), that I belive is not simply Science Fiction.
