Discovery “patched” is ready to return on the earth!
This night two astronauts of the Discovery have solved tho problem to the thermal blanket of the ship.
The reporting (this is a Cnn one and this is an EuroNews one) has told that the two astronauts have repaired the damage with their own hands.
A thermal Blanket repaired with the hands?!?!?!?
Are we talking about the same blanket that must substain hundreds of degree?
Well, last decade has seen the “Star Wars” game of USA, with their Space Shield that have absorbed millions of dollars, and the obvious result is that if you use too much money for one things, all the other projects remain without founds. Another obvious human attitude is the one to invest in warfare before everything else, so the Discovery is older than my car, probably older than everyone’s car.
I think that those astronauts are courageous, because I’ll never go in the space with one of those ships… hey, behind their back they have enough fuel that a simple bomb is something ridiculous!
What about if I’d tell you:
Hey, jump in, I’ll get you on the highway for a ride!
No one will! You know.
Those astronauts are in the space for the human attitude to explore, to satisfy their (and our) curiosity, but everyone that want to take the responsibility to sent them in the space MUST provide them everything they need to land safely at home again!
We can decide to stop the space program, but I hope we’ll never see incidents like those we have seen in the past, incidents that, in matter of seconds, burns lot of lives and millions of dollars!
Get those boys home and, if you really want to be Captain Kirk and explore the space, find the foundings to give the future Spoks the right item to go there!
It’s simply common sense!
