Guy with tattooed face and Beautiful chick

There are times when you know that if you want a photo, you need to approach your subject and ask their permissions. It is not because who they are, or better what they seem to be, but it is about what you feel as a photographer. Sunday I was walking up and down Regent Street when I saw them, sitting on the pavement looking the flow of people walking the big road closed to the normal traffic. They were interesting, and this you can tell, but there was something more. It was in the way they looked at each other, in the way they were leaned one close to the other. It was like looking at a hard shell enclosing two beautiful souls.
When I made my way towards them they greeted me with a smile, cheering me as I did with them. I told them I was taking photos of the various people and that I was really interested in them. It could not have been easier to receive a Yes. I did not move away from them to take their photo immediately though, and I stayed there to chat a little bit longer. The discussion moved on my “Big Lens” (I had the 70-300 on the camera) and he asked my why I had such a big glass. Honestly I do not know why I answered “There are people with small lens and people with huge ones…” I was not able to finish my sentence that he said “Yes, women tell the same thing!” and before realizing what I was going to say I simply added “Yes, but more important than how big is your yacht is how good you are at sailing the sea!”. This was the final act that triggered the laughter.
After having taken their photo I asked if they wanted to have a copy and he said he would. In the small piece of paper he left me, just under his email, he wrote “The guy with the tattooed face with the beautiful chick“. I was so enchanted by their kindness and their smiles that I did not even ask for their names. They were the guy with the tattooed face and the beautiful chick. When I sent them the email with the photo I obviously asked for their names, and I am proud to present you Xed and Perla.

This is the sort of photo that makes me want to become a photographer :) (if only time allowed)
