Hit by Sql Server!
It is not my Fault!
How many times I’ve heard this phrase, shouted from one side of the office to the other….
…but this time the fault was mine :(
This morning one of my programs decided not to respond anymore! OPS! I checked almost every single log, but everything that I checked was similar: Error and that was all!
Sob!
Finally I found a “litte slowness” accessing data! I checked the database size and… 5 Gigabytes: Sql Server was gasping!
Ah, Pain in the… How did I get 5 Giga of data?
After 3 hours of inspection I fount that a single “transaction” was about 15 millions of record that SqlServer was unable to digest and move away from the production database!
Sob, I’ve deleted manually that stupid transaction!
PS: Use Oracle or PostgreSql and you’ll live longer! :)
