In the name of Press Freedom! In the name of God!

In these days I have followed the upsetting news about the strips that was joking against Islam.
My toughts was a little confused, because from one side I agree with the press freedom and the irony that can be used, from the other side I can understand that every population have its own sensibility and some ironic strips on Jesus can make the christians smile, the same on Mohammed can upset an entire population.
I haven’t read the satire strips, so I cannot judge if they could eventually offend my morality or not.

I cannot set myself in the dress of a Muslim, because I am not and I cannot judge, but the reaction of the muslim world has been (In My Humble Opinion) a little too hard.
The main problem is that the two worlds we are nowadays living in, are too much different one from the other and the news are faster than thoughts.

And the problem is that there is NO RESPECT from the ideas!
No WAY! Both those who had published the strips that had set fire to all of this, and the muslim response.

So I condemn them all!

For the publisher of the strips it would have been simple to say:
We are sorry! We never wanted to offend you so much

It does not involve the Press Freedom. It does not involve the Danish government. This is not politics.
Press Freedom does not mean that you can offend every one you need. Press Freedom does not mean that you can say “Sorry”!
Press Freedom is the possibility to tell everything, it is not meant to offend a religion.

I think the Muslims are not asking for a “Non Free Press“, they are telling us that we have offended them and that we should threat their ideal better. Maybe telling “We Are Sorry!

I want to believe that the publisher never meant to offend the Islam world so badly!

On the other side there are more smart way of protesting against those who insult your religion.
Burning the flags and set fire to the diplomatic embassies is a so hard photo that the result is only a major break between the two populations.

I am not Christian, I am not Muslim. What I can see is that the two groups look with fear and anger one to the other, without remembering that War is Useless for us all!

On the other side I do not agree with the agitated response of the Muslim world! Where is the charity? Where is a civil request for an explanation?
I cannot accept such a violence in return of a provocation, because no one is going to freeze the situation to ask for sonthing clear!
Didn’t they learn that with violence they will never get anything? Didn’t they understand that the Occident feel itself “superior” and uses these actions to strengthen this idea?

I am not telling that this is right or wrong. I am not convering all those “Biggest Part”, because this issue would cover 100 posts without being able to give some answers.

I am telling that both the Muslims and the Occident are guilty.

They are guilty because no one respect the other. They are guilty because they do not try to understand the other.

There eill ever be someone who will be able to understand this, capable of freeing this excalation of misunderstandings?
