Listening to Twilight

Listening to Twilight

The other night Fabiana and I decided to go to the cinema with a friend of ours. She asked to watch “Twilight” and we accepted. To be honest I was not expecting anything really good, more a teenager story than anything else, but we went and watched the film. Twilight is a story I would have fallen in love if I were a teenager, indeed, but the film was very well directed and the photography was absolutely stunning. Lately I am giving a lot of attention to these details and even a mediocre plot can be balanced with quality filming or photography.
The day after the film I decided to listen to the audiobook. It is always a good thing to listen to a language that is not your mother tongue. I have to admit that for the first hours of listening I was highly disappointed. I was used to Stephen Fry’s voice in Harry Potter, with his incredible vocal ability and fantastic characterizations. The monotone american accented voice that is reading this version of Twilight does not reach the standard of Fry’s reading and part of the emotions the book could have handed are lost. Nevertheless I am going on listening to it (I hate to leave a book unfinished) but I have to admit that every time I imagine Edward Colins, one of the main character, I do not figure him as the actor I have seen few days ago on the screen, but I see James, in his pale and strong jawed face, in his intense look.

In this shot the shadows are not very well highlighted, I have to admit. I would have loved to see some more details in the left side of their faces (the right side for you seeing them). Again, it is a continuous improvement process! What’s Next?

This looks SO much better here than it does on Flickr.
Did you post a different resolution/file or is it just another case of Flickr butchering our images to display them?

Hi Conor,
honestly the file is the same, I host my photos on flickr and I link them from this blog.
Probably the fact that you can see it bigger make all the difference in the world… 900px instead of 500px!

Thanks!
