Luc Besson’s Angel.A
Yesterday Fabiana and I had the possibility to watch Luc Besson’s Angel.A (you can fine the home page here), one of his latest film. In this Black and White film he did a very good psychological game, more than a simple film. A lot of criticism to this work has been about the fact that it is quite hard to follow, not a simple one and, more than that, not a masterpiece. I can’t say that I agree with all of them.

IMDB users gave this film a 5.9/10, too low in my opinion. Of course rarely I agree with the viewers’ marks on IMDB. This is the first film who is actually pushing my interest in the city of Paris, filmed in a great B/W way. I have loved the photography every single moment, and Besson’s irony is great as always.
The actors have done a good job IMHO and even if not perfect, the two main actors, Rie Rasmussen and Jamel Debbouze, has acted very well. Rie Rasmussen resembles me Besson’s ex wife, Milla Jovovich.
This movie is about Andre’s psychological aspects, one of the main characters, his attitute towards life, his constant lying and his economical problems. For a inattentive watcher the whole story seems moving around a stupid and lean plot. Deeply inside the skin, Besson worked well on the characters, on their attitudes, on the motivations of their actions and with the possible misunderstanding of every action. I will not write down any spoiler, because I think that if you want to watch it you deserve all the thigs it can gives you, otherwise you can get a lot of spoilers around, in IMDB too!
Certainly a film to watch!
