Managing…

Managing...

Of the many lessons I could have learned during the workshop there is one that is not at all linked to photography or lighting that is hitting me today. It is related about managing more than one photographer.
One of the first rule I have always used (that always worked) is to use a single point of contact between models and photographers. One voice, just one to deliver the photos, just one to say yes or no for the entire group, otherwise it is a mayhem! This is something I should have underlined more clearly during the workshop we did. Sometimes everything is smooth even with a chaotic management of these relations, some other times there are issues that starts rolling down.
So my advice to you is: if you want to manage a project, be sure you are very clear on what you expect from people, on why it is so important not to override one each other. The other solution is to give the responsibility to each and everyone of the photographers to manage the models, but I see this as highly unprofessional to be honest.
Your decision…
