Today I grabbed my camera while I was on the tube and I switched it on. I set the aperture to f/8, the ISO to 800 and the lens focus to manual on 2.5 meters (8ft). When I got out at Marble Arch I simply checked the exposure and I went on.
There are many advantages and some drawbacks in working like this.
Primarily I can avoid focusing my subject in the center of the photo and then re framing, then hip shots are easier (I just check the distance, more or less) and the photo has a wider Depth Of Field. Clearly the nice bokeh are lost with such a high Aperture, but this is a small price to pay.
Today has not been a fantastic day for the subjects, too many times I have lost the right moment, but not a single photo went out of focus, and this is good when you concentrate on your targets.
She was walking down Oxford Street, I saw her a little bit late, but her walking style caught my attention, it resembled me the way Fabiana walks: secure and confident!
