Night Fun
I had never shot at night. When the sky goes dark, every single light is paramount. This child was playing in the fountain on the South Bank and she, with some friends and under the supervision of her mother, was having a lot of fun.
It has been challenging to shoot with so few lights but some in the background. The hardest part has probably been the focusing. The camera was not able to pick the right point to focus, and going manual was impossible. I have already said more than once that the focusing screen of the 40D is useless for manual focus, so I had to wait a little bit before having a good shot.
Clearly the children playing around, without a single moment of stillness, did not help it!
Nevertheless I liked how this shot came out. The ISO 3200 are visible in the lack of definition, but the way the light hits her face is really good!
