Portrait of a Self Portrait
Photos take a part of our story, a small fragment of what we are. They do not change and, in time, they still show what we have been. Sometimes I regret not having used my camera more often in the past. One thing I rarely do is taking self portrait, I do not like them very much, but I have to admit that I like to have some photos of me, maybe for the sake of being able to watch them in few years time.
Every day on flickr I see endless Self Portrait. Some people have their streams composed exclusively by self portrait. Is this the need to remember ourselves or is it s more subtle need? I will gladly leave the psychology of this to someone more knowledgeable on the subject.
More than once I have seen people taking some self portraits on the streets of London. Some of my contacts has shot sets of photos about people taking photos of themselves, to me it is a moment like many other. A moment in the life of the people who walks these streets.
