Projects Overlapping: how to loose our own mind!
In these days I’m going crazy.
Someone is asking me to conclude a project I’m working on from some months, some other is telling me that the delivery of another project I’m involved in has been anticipated of two weeks (?) and everything must be “Up’n'Running” for the 15th of January. The same one is also telling me that, even if I have to give my part for tomorrow, I have also to follow a project ended some months ago because the systemists have told him that the connection problems are not related to them, so I have to solve something outside my responsibilities.
This is not the way someone can work. I HATE waking up in te morning telling myself that I HAVE to go to work, that the pleasure will soon return when this shitty moment will pass, but in those days I feel sick thinking to the huge amount of things I have to do!
I Love my job, but when those things become so overlapped the love torns into frustration!
In this case the main problem is the management…
Three hours of meeting that leaves the information as they were before. Too many useless meetings that does not help to solve the problematic.
This is the way everything is done: talk, talk, talk, talk… without solving anything and leaving the developers (and me) in a sort of limbo where the lack of information is the daily bread you have to eat.
I know that this is a vent of my stress, but in the end the basic idea is very simple: with a lack of management there shouldn’t be any results, except the stress for the developers.
Easily… no good development, no good projects.
