Quiet before the Storm

Quiet before the Storm

The Notting Hill Carnival 2008 went fairly smooth on Sunday, but on Monday (Bank Holiday in the UK) things turned pretty nasty. At the end of the Carnival a proper riot exploded. I was not there to take photos of the event, even if I would have loved to. A really bad ending of a great long weekend.
This shot shows a relaxed moment, but the thousands of Bobby had a real hard time this year. In the end more than 300 people were arrested during the Carnival. It is a shame.
Lately I have not liked the way the police treated freedom here, especially when they bother photographers, but in this case they were everywhere and did a great job.
