REM Live: it is not my destiny!
It is pretty clear that I will never be able to see the REM live: it is not my destiny.
The first time I missed them was in 1990. I was enjoying my holidays in Sicily and they played in Catania. Unfortunately my holiday ended one day before the concert… nice coincidence!
Back in 1999, when I was “serving my country” (?) the REM had a Live session in Isola, a small city in Slovenja, few miles from Trieste. Unfortunately the rules were pretty clear: during your compulsory military service you were not allowed to go abroad. I decided to respect the rules, and I lost them for the second time.
Now, for the third time in a row, I could have had the possibility to go to a concert, the 24th March in London, at the Royal Albert Hall. Unfortunately I did not realise that probably I will be in Italy in those days. I still do not know if I will be able to fly there, but the tickets are already sold out (five minutes after the sale start) and those on eBay are too expensive to risk loosing them.
Well… if REM will decide to go on for more than the current 28 years… MAYBE there will be another possibility!
