Respect
I am a respectful person, I have always been, and in the same way I respect every worker, I respecto policeman. Their job is not always easy, most of the time they have to deal with people we would not invite for dinner, and they are the hinstrument of safety our governments give us. They should not be feared, they should be the first person we should trust in case of danger.
When we were here for just few days we remain positively hit by the police force in London: thew were (and are) at the service of the population. I think I have never seen, back in Italy, a child stopping a policeman to ask indications; we did see it here and more than once.
I also like very much the fact that normal policeman do not carry guns with them. If they had guns with them every time, criminals would feel justified to carry them as well.
I will teach my children, when I will have them, to respect policeman. It does not matter if I do not agree with the government, with some action police have to take because of the decisions of a nation: we have always to remember that we cannot blame the stick that hit the dog, but the hand who brandishes it.
…and yes, this is political as well!
