Serenity: what a nice surprise!
Well, if I would have looked at the creators I would have been less open-minded about this film: from those who developed Buffy and Angel TV Series (that I do not like too much), but I have to admit that the film was more than nice!
I have started looking at the film without knowing what I would have seen, I only knew that it was science fiction, and that was quite good enough for my taste… Yes, after some evening with Star Wars I was hungry of more good sci-fi!
In a quite far future (500 years from now) a new world order has been created in some new planets, where the new order reminded me, from the beginning, Equilibrium for the strange forces that try to keep the population calm and peaceful.
Ok, no more spoilers….
Serenity has been designed quite well, and in some moment it resembled me a middleway between Star Wars , Blade Runner and Matrix, even if this film is not to be one of my “Most Favourites” of all the times like those mentioned.
It is a good film for the SciFi lover like me, with good spaceships: “You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll gasp in shock. What you won’t be is bored.” like IMDB says.
Well, if you can find this DVD you can spend some euro to rent it for a good evening with friends! :)
