Some words about Leadership…
When I was younger, I thought that a Leader was a semi-useless figure that was surrounding the working team with his bullshits!
Now, a lot of years later, I understand that I though like that because of too many leaders I’ve met in my life were everything but leaders!
Of course I have changed my mind so deeply nowadays that those thoughts seem irrational to me, but there is another thought that is hitting me harder and harder every day: of all the Leaders I had worked with those I will remember for more than a second (and ina positive way) dos not take away more than few fingers in the first counting hand!

I started evaluating Leadership as a very important since the fall of too many projects badly thought, badly designed and badly directed.
Leaders are like movie directors: you can have the best actors in the world, but your sign is the brightest.
Decision makers, shields for his/hers team members, clock and compass of the project: the Team Leader has a lot of responsibilities on his/her shoulders, and therefore he/she must be choosed well, because this person can change the overcome of your project!
These years of experience I had in so many different environments has taught me that it doesn’t matter if you are developing a software, directing a surgical room, building a house-dimension engine or if you are going to conquer the world with your ideas: wherever you are, whatever you are looking for, your first bet has to be on the Leader.
Of course there should be two different visions for this: from the upper part of the power or from the lower part of it.
Leaders in Managements Minds
Too many times I’ve heard… “…the Cheaper the Better…” and I can tell that I agree completely on this… at least if you would like to bury your job!
Thinking of a Leader for a branch of your company means thinking of the healthy of that branch, means that you can choose between a desk full of messy papers in which you have to search the information or clean minds that knows where they are going in every moment.
A good leader chooses well the timing of every project, creating two different calendar for them, one internal and one external, chooses the path and follows the team members as they were his/her children.
Leaders in Team Members Minds
A leader can be a friend, or can be an enemy. It does not matter. A leader can be loved or can be hated. It does not matter.
The leader mut be a person you can trust in.
You have to know that his/her words are law, for you and for the management, because he is the voice of the project. You must know that you will always have someone you can talk to and someone that will talk to you, the glue between all the members of a team.
The Leader is the propellent of your enthusiasm, is the push that will never let you stop on a problem.
Would I be a good Leader?
It will be seen!
