The Actor
“James’s face coming out of the dark in an experiment of lighting. London, 10th January 2009.“
I have to admit that when I casted James I had some small doubts on him, honestly. The photos in his portfolio were very diverse and I was not entirely sure he would have been the perfect model for the role, nevertheless there was something in his eyes that convinced me to bring him on board for the casting. It was a fantastic choice.
James’s facial features are very strong, but his eyes are deep and he knows how to use them. He is extremely natural in front of the camera and he moves relaxed on the stage.
Fabiana and I were discussing and we had the same impression: James would be a great actor. His movements so natural… the way he turns his face and looks at you… Simply perfect.
I would also like to underline that he had been humble and extremely professional: an hour before the end of the shooting he was suffering from some fever and he was extremely tired by it, but not for a single moment he gave up and when I asked if he wanted to rest, stopping his session, he told me that as long as he was good for the role he would have carried on. Respectable.
I am really looking forward to working with James again in the future!
