The Artist
He was on the South Bank, with his sketchbook and his pencil and his pipe. He was drawing the landscape in front of him and he was so relaxed that I did not see him, I saw my photo instead. I did not need to think about the composition, because I had it already in my mind. I just went near him and waited for him to stop drawing for a while, just to avoid disturbing him too much. I asked him if I could have took his photo and he smiled and said yes. In that moment I would have asked him to start drawing again, trying to forget about me, but he did it on his own accord, allowing me to take the shot I really wanted.
I am wondering where my photography is going and even if I have not found an answer, I am understanding myself better. Shooting film is pushing my boundaries, and I like it. I do not really think that I would be able to live without digital, I an still a son of the technology, but shooting with a complete manual camera is FUN!
