The City Elf

The City Elf

She was scared of me. When she asked my why I wanted her picures I explained as I normally do, simply telling the truth. She said me yes, but I feel she gave her permission more out of fear than because she wanted to. I bet she was thinking that I was a mad man and that the best thing she could do was to say yes and hope that I would have gone away fast.
Do I seem someone who has lost his marbles when I ask people to take their photos? I really hope not, otherwise… well I simply hope not.

What hit me of her was her small hat, whose colors cannot be seen in the black and white film. I have to give credit to Fabiana that told me “she’s an elf” when she saw this photo! Yes, I can see this girl with some pointed ears: the light colors on her skin and her hair matches the Tolkien description… what do you think?

Today I was out and around, enjoying my short vacation from work and with my digital camera once more. I have to admit that I miss the wide angle the full frame can give with a 40mm and shooting with the 50mm with my 1.6x frame factor gave me some results I was not entirely happy with. Too close to the subject and not enough composition. Nevertheless I have to admit that film helped me a lot in improving my general shooting: today I took a tenth of the number of photis I usually take with the digital camera, but the rate of good shots were very high. I am very happy about this. Very.
