The Learning Process

The Learning Process

I believe that life is a continuous learning process. We can easily sit down and avoid learning or we can push the changes and be the promoter of those processes. Six months ago I would not have known how to take a photo like this one, using a small flashlight bounced on a silver umbrella. I would not have known but I have learned it.
The London Calling Photographers was born with the target to group photographers together, giving them something they can really feel part of, making them free to share their experiences and their knowledge, and after some months this thing is happening, slowly, but it is happening. The meetings are becoming more and more interesting every time and the involvement can be felt. This is amazing.
During the next meeting, on the 4th of February, we will hold a speech about the Photographers’ Rights. For those who have been “Stopped and Searched” by the London Metropolitan Police (or UK Police in general) and for those who will, or simply for everyone who wants to know where is the limit between Rights and Obligations, we will talk about it. Olivier Laurent, News Editor of the British Journal of Photography has kindly agreed to hold the speech, and we are working hard in order to bring someone from the Metropolitan Police at our meeting as well.
Personally I am extremely interested in the discussion and I would love to see a debate with both the points of view, Photographers AND Police.
