Two names in a missing note

Two names in a missing note, originally uploaded by Carlo Nicora.

Yesterday I decided to stop on the South Bank on my way home. I told myself that I had to push the gap that divides the easiness of using a 200mm lens to the joy of taking a portrait asking for it.
“No Candid Today” I thought, and so when them, I stopped them and start explaining who I was and asking if I could have took their picture.
I noted her names in a little piece of paper, but that piece of paper has been lost. I hope they will contact me, so this one will not be remembered as a nameless photo.
I have to thank them because they have been extremely kind to me (and they are two spectacular subjects I may add)!

Evaluating the situation

When I gave them my moo card, he was immediatly jovial and trustworthy. For how she felt at ease near him, she waited for his evaluation. She was not so sure to be in my photos, but as you can see, she fits perfectly!

Dreamy eye contact

When i asked them “how they would have liked to be photographed” there have been a moment of silence. their eyes met and for sure a common thought hit them ate the same time. Few moments after this shot, they started laughing. I loved this moment, I loved their expressions and that feeling that only two close friends or lovers can share.

Burning out the tension

Post processing this photo I was tempted to avoid publishing it. Despite the great moment, the photo was technically imperfect. They were slightly moving, the background was full of highlights and the building on the left was nothing more than a noise. Nevertheless their expressions, was terrific. They were setting up for the first “posed” shot, and she was not perfectly at ease, but this initial laughter set everything up.
With an imperfect shot, an imperfect and burned postproduction was the only thing I could have done.
