Upsy-Daisy

Upsy-Daisy, originally uploaded by Carlo Nicora.

Had I to describe myself in just two words I would say I am a “stubborn idealist” (that is much more complex than a two words definition by the way). I would love my photos to reflect the reality of what I see, the world around me, with the things that goes, those that do not and all the rest of the things that not necessarily are good or bad, but that simply lighten the world we live in.
I think that each and everyone of us, in herself/himself, has the power to change the world. We can do it fighting, protesting, screaming… I would love to be able to do it photographing.
During the London Pride I have seen the best of the protests: the one that walks with the smile and the pride of those who believe in their ideals, in their values.
Should photographers be impartial while shooting a rally? Well, in this case… Upsy-Daisy, I have not been!

I have decided to name this set “Some people are Gay. Get over it!”, following one of the billboards proudly carried by the people in he parade and sharing the idea that homophobia is bad.
