Vista Released, service pack will follow immediately!

Thanks to Frank for sending me this “Spectacular” link:

Microsoft already planning Vista service pack

I’ve started laughing like a mental, thinking about this superb marketing Microsoft is using. Come on, Vista has just touched the shelves of the european stores, and it needs some patches already? Frank pointed me on a short passage of the zdnet article:

Windows Vista already planning a patchWe expect Windows Vista SP1 to be a standard service pack that will include security updates and hot fixes…

But wasn’t Windows Vista one of the Most Secure OS? And do they have to patch the security already? If Windows2003 was 600MB and the SP1 was 380MB, I really don’t wanna know how huge the SP1 for Vista will be!

By The Way: Yes, I laugh like a mental also because I have OSX, I clearly admit it!

Another short notice: yesterday the TV launched a new ADS where everyone is staring to some faboulous scenarios, and everyone, after few seconds of silence, tell: “WOW!”. I was sick at three quarter of the ad, but when the last man was a geek on a laptop, and the Microsoft Vista logo pop up, I started laughing like mad! Yes, Microsoft is making me laughing… when I do not cry for the blue screens!

HA HA HA!!!!

what to say.. expensive, too many versions, and some important security featurs available only in the ultimate or business (even 480€) (with bitlocker ciphrature system), aero only in the premium (330€), IE 7 doesn’t work properly fine, some minor bugs in the interface, heavy resource requests (2 gig ram, sata hdd and 128 mb ram video card with shaders 2.0 support), someone calls out about bad drivers support (but i had not problem with the beta 2 32bit, 64 is an hell), expecially in the 64bit version… i think that vista is more a business OS, easy to find preinstalled on new PCs (basic editon over all, without aero… mmm). i won’t move to vista (however eeee..mu..leetciuu.. you got it).

ps. anyone knows if vista has a license that allows you to install it on 5 machines ? i heard about this, but i wasn’t able to find nothing about this. Do you ?
ps. is there a way to open a “latest linux distributions” topic Carlo ? i’d have some questions and opinions about it :)

Well, I have seen enough videos to stay away from Vista. Obviously my MAC OS X works incredibly well, therefore the thought of passing to Microsoft again is far from my mind!
The prices are a joke, and the subdivision in four different versions only for the client is highly ridiculous!
My previous laptop has every single requirement to support Vista… but it would be impossible for me to install it, because it would have tons of problems just because of the drivers… this is mental!
I don’t regret my move to the Mac, not for a single seconds… Windows Vista has a lot of things copied from OSX and dare they call this innovation?
I’ll wait some more months for the upgrade to Leopard, and I think we will have something more than “aqua” or “aero”…

Cheers

Carlo
