Happy New Year! Well... the fireworks were great indeed and I think that the cheerful air that was breathable there was enough to say that those has been money not completely wasted. I mean that public money have to be spent for the people, and yesterday I have seen thousands of people smiling and being amazed by the lights in the sky. As long as the population can get a new start, a new smile to be more productive, no money are wasted. There is a phrase in a technical book (about development) that can be easily modified for this: <em>...keep your developers happy and you'll ship on budget and time...</em> and I believe that as long as the population is granted ten minutes of happiness... well, it is good!
