I would like to think she was getting ready for a job interview. Near the place too early, with plenty of time for a coffee, a cigarette and some small details. Eyelashes first, then probably makeup and finally her hair.
I like to think this but when I saw this woman fixing her eyelashes outside a Coffee on the Strand, I found it interesting. One of the moment NOT to lose.

I am quite naive, I am not able to capture subtle psychological implications, I am straightforward, thinking and acting. I do not consider the philosophical details of a situation and too many times I see the world in Black and White, no colors, no grey, just Black and White.
If I say I am sorry, I am, and if you are not the right fit for me you will understand it without any doubts. I am not good in wrapping up an idea, a gift or an emotion: they are raw material, usually clear and direct.

Yes but this is me and I am proud of what I am.

There are no connection with the rain, I know. I do not pretend to link every shot to the title, I do not pretend to like each and every shot I take.
I like to plan things, to draw schema to incorporate every possible solution but then I am attracted by human emotions, uncontainable.

See it on black and listen with the volume a little higher than normal and for a while, shut your eyes and try to kiss the rain!

When on Thursday we went out with all the others photographers, we did not know it was Eva’s Birthday. We wishes her Happy Birthday only via mail the day after but we would have loved to know it there! Well… next year!
I loved to listen to everyone’s accent. Some British, some other Italias (guess who), some Australian, some French, some… yes, I like this multiculturality.

I know this is pretty different compared with my usual kind of photo but I saw that kid with his hand outstretched against those colorful buildings and it stroke me. I simply loved the moment and the balance all those fantastic tones had…

Time to present Billy in the list of fantastic photographers met the other day at the pub. It was the second time we met him but the good first impression he gave me the first time was underlined this time.
One funny thing was that the initial silence after every presentation was broken by the same person re-presenting him or herself with the Flickr name.

A: “Nice to meet you”
B: “Nice to meet you, I’m Billy!”
A: “Hi Billy, have I ever seen your photos?”
B: “I’m Ratso3…”
A: “Oh yes, of course, I know you perfectly… yes, I mean, your photos!”

I bet the next time we will meet there will be no one looking the others in the eyes trying to remember the flickr usernames!

Second to be portrayed in the PhotoPub Series is James. We met him for the first time yesterday and, like for everyone else, it has been a real pleasure to meet him and have a chat.
We ended up discussing the pronunciation of the word “Law” that seemed to be a word quite hard for me to pronounce correctly. In the end, after few attempts and some laughter I managed it!
Next time italian lesson, and for them as for me, just after two pints!! :P
What hit me more of James was his laughter: real! Thank you again guys!

Yesterday evening we had the pleasure to go out with some fellows photographers. We met near Tottenham Court Road, in a dimly lit alley, just outside a pub. We met some people we already knew and some others we did not. Overall it has been a unique pleasure to meet them all, very friendly and outgoing.
This morning Fabiana left for Glasgow very early (very!) but this gave me the time to go trough the photos I did yesterday.
I hope I will be able to publish one for each of those who were there in the next days. The first one is Vanouxe whom I met thanks to Mark!
I know that this editing is quite… extreme but I like the strong contrast, the eyes pushed to an almost unnatural pitch black.

I am not extremely interested in common portraiture for a simple reason: the poses. Perfect porcelain dolls, freeze - dried emotions. I see the challenge in taking portraits avoiding the stereotypes, showing something real. Not an easy task that few photographers were able to do. Emotions are the only things I can be feed with. They are interesting, capturing.
When I saw this woman walking on the south bank I did not think anything about her but that her smile was Real, Genuine. Authentic.
